Mrs. Jean Howell, age 79, of Memphis, formerly of Bolivar, departed this life Monday, March 13, 2017 at Baptist Memorial Hospital East.
The widow of Jerry S. Howell, who died on August 22, 2007, she was retired as a receptionist for Jim Keras in Memphis, having worked 25 years at that location, and was a homemaker. She was born Tuesday August 3, 1937 in Bruce, Mississippi, daughter of the late Wayne and Alcy Inmon Bland and had lived back in this area since the 1950's. She married Jerry S. Howell on October 22, 1977 and also was an ordained minister. She enjoyed sewing and working with her mother in her drapery business, making some of the drapes that were in Elvis Presley's house in Memphis. Mrs. Howell was a member of Raleigh Assembly of God Church and also attended Bellevue Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Bonnie Campbell (Louis) of Bartlett and Gloria Arrambide (Daniel) of Drummonds; a son and his wife, Ralph White (Shannon) of Oakland; two sisters,e Alcy Baskin of Bartlett and Debbie Russell of Drummonds; a brother, James 'Al' Bland of Memphis; and two grandchildren, Christopher Tolbert (Christy) and Daniel Arrambide, Jr. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Q.
