Jean Landreth Meek

Finger, TN: Shelby Jean Landreth Meek age 87, passed away Friday , November 15, 2024 at her home at Lynnfield Place in Selmer, TN.

She was born February 18, 1937 in Adamsville, TN the daughter of the late Ovie James and Winnie Estle Rickman Landreth. She graduated from Adamsville High School in 1955. She married Percie Dee Meek in 1956. They made their home near Finger. She worked in the garment factories for a while and at G.E. in Selmer for twenty years, retiring in 1997. They moved to the Montezuma Road area in 2007. Mr. Meek preceded in death in 2015. Mrs. Meek was a member of the Old Friendship Baptist Church. She loved to travel.

She is survived by three sons, Ronnie D. Meek and wife Kathy of Henderson, Steve A. Meek of Lawton and Jeff D. Meek and wife Michelle of Henderson; a daughter, Debbie Meek Naylor and husband Ronald of Finger; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Sells, Mike Meek, Clint Meek, Shelby Meek, Rachel Tinsley, Molly Humble and Michele Menzie and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Percie Dee Meek, two grandchildren, Sarah Grace Meek and Anthony Darrell Meek; three brothers, Troy Landreth, Hobert Landreth and Bud Landreth and five sisters, Myrtie Hurley, Florence Landreth, Ollie Anderson, Frances Gray and Beedie Landreth. 

Funeral services will be 2 PM Monday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel with Bro. Glenn Harris and Bro. Ashley Ray officiating. Burial will follow in Old Friendship Cemetery with Bro. Iran Smith officiating.

The family will receive friends at Casey Chapel from 5 PM until 8 PM Sunday and Monday from 12 noon till service time of 2 PM.
