Jean Anna Prather

Jean Anna Weirup Prather was born December 23, 1924 in East Hartford, Connecticut the daughter of the late Karl S. and Kathryn E. Santangelo Weirup.



She was united in marriage to Edwin Lee Prather on June 20, 1945. Mr. Prather preceded her in death on February 13, 1993.



Mrs. Prather was a loving mother and grandmother, a wonderful seamstress, enjoyed cooking, she was well known for her cakes, cake decorating, cookies and her requested pineapple cheesecake. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Selmer, Tennessee. She volunteered for many years at McNairy Regional Hospital as a Pink Lady.



Mrs. Prather departed this life on September 12, 2010 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 85 Years, 8 Months, 20 Days. She is survived by two daughters, Dorothy Mohundro and husband Larry of Selmer, TN, Mary K. Foote and husband Mark of Savannah, TN; a son, Lloyd Prather and wife Beverly of Ramer, TN; seven grandchildren, Christina Clark, Eddie Prather, Kenneth Mohundro, Sherry Mohundro, Debra Curle, Adam Foote, Michael Foote; eight great grandchildren, Baileigh Mohundro, Kaleb Mohundro, Chase Mohundro, Katie Parker, Kaden Curle, Asia Clark, Jaidee Prather, Angelido Prather; four sisters, Helen Pierce of Virginia, Linda Fulcher of Virginia, Peggy Deffenbaugh of Florida, Patty Swinsen of Virginia ; two brothers, Conrad Weirup of Virginia , Richard Weirup of Virginia.



In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Prather was preceded in death by a daughter, Peggy Prather; two sisters, Frances Tedder, Carol Daniels; two brothers, Karl Weirup, Charles Weirup.
