Jeanette Hurst

Ms. Jeanette Hurst was born February 10, 1948 to the late Willie Joyce Walker Barlow and Robert Barlow. Jeanette departed this life on October 9, 2022 at the McNairy County Nursing Home in Selmer, TN.

Jeanette was born in Booneville, MS and at an early age she moved to Tennessee. She attended school at the old McNairy County School. During her life she worked at local factories, Southwest, as a private caregiver, McNairy Developmental Services, and was a loving foster parent through Omni Visions.

Jeanette accepted Christ at an early age, she attended Mt. Zion Baptist church over the years. She was a very independent, outspoken, strong and humble lady. She was a good friend to many.

She is preceded in death by four sisters, Jeneva Weeks, Linda Lee, Denise Fells and Patricia Pearson; two brothers, Robert Turner and Rodney Barlow.

Jeanette leaves to cherish her memory two sisters, Joyce White and Monique Long; a brother, Larry Barlow; a host of cousins and friends who will miss her dearly.

Visitation with the family will be on Thursday, October 13, 2022 from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Selmer. Graveside memorial service at Sandhill Cemetery in Michie on Friday, October 14, 2022 at 12:00 PM with Kalvin Barlow officiating.
