IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jeffery Scott
Smallwood
September 24, 1965 – February 13, 2026
Jeffery Scott Smallwood, age 60, of Clifton, TN, passed away on February 13, 2026. He was born on September 24, 1965 in Jackson, TN, he was the son of the late Floyd Edward and Roberta Jean Williams Smallwood.
On February 17, 2000, Jeffery experienced a cherished moment in his life when he united in marriage with Carolyn Ann Gaither. Their bond was a testament to love and partnership that will always be remembered.
Jeffery dedicated many years of his life to his work at TCIX Wayne County. He began his journey there as a private and, through hard work and determination, rose to the rank of sergeant under the guidance of Lieutenant Stanley Woods. His dedication did not go unnoticed; he was honored by the warden as a role model employee, embodying the values of commitment and integrity.
Outside of his professional life, Jeffery found joy in various interests. He had a passion for golfing and a love for sports, particularly cheering on the UT Vols. His adventurous spirit led him to pursuits such as metal detecting and relic hunting, where he often found treasures that echoed history.
While Jeffery’s physical presence may no longer be with us, his spirit continues to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work and love for family and friends that will endure in the hearts of many.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Ann Gaither Smallwood of Clifton, TN; sons, Timmy Smallwood of Alamo, TN, Tyler Joseph Smallwood of Clifton, TN, and Scott Dewey Tennyson (Patty) of Burlison, TN; daughter, Christy Dugan (James) of Memphis, TN; brother, Brandon James Smallwood of Clifton, TN; nieces/nephew, Madison Smallwood, Peyton Smallwood, Sydney Smallwood, and Bailey Smallwood; grandchildren, Dewey Tennyson, Clint Tennyson, Tristan Mears, Savanah Tennyson, Olivia Tennyson, Maggie Tennyson, and Brooklyn Tennyson; and aunt/uncle, Elaine and Danny Smallwood.
