With heavy hearts, the family shares the passing of a husband, father, and grandfather who meant the world to them.
Jeffrey Lynn Welch, born January 7, 1953, in Savannah, Tennessee, to the late Daniel Sydney Welch and Alma Jean Cook Welch, both who preceded him in death.
Jeffrey was a man who loved quietly, fiercely, and with a faith that shaped everything in his life. The outdoors was his refuge he loved to hunt, breathe in the quiet, and find peace in the land God created.
For 37 years, he worked at LTV Steel/Maverick, where his co-workers became lifelong brothers and sisters. He took pride in his work and valued the friendships that came from it.
On September 22, 1973, Jeffrey married the love of his life, Mamie Jean Welch, and together they spent 52 devoted years side by side. Their marriage was built on faith, loyalty, and a deep and unwavering love that never faltered. Mamie survives him, along with their children, Amy Welch (Clint) Ingle and Jonathan Clarke Welch, all of Savannah; three grandchildren who brought light to his days, Bryson Tucker Ingle, Haylee Lynn Welch, and Cooper Hayes Ingle; his brother, Jimmy Welch; his sisters, Sherry Rogers and Peggy (Charles) Crotts; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews whom he cherished dearly. He was also preceded in death by one brother Daniel Sydney Welch, Jr.
Jeffrey's faith was not just something he spoke of it was the foundation of who he was. He worshiped at Pyburn Union Church, where he lived out his beliefs with humility and devotion. He had a gentle humor, a kind spirit, and a compassionate heart. He was a man who loved the Lord, and it showed in every decision, every conversation and every act of kindness.
He was the true definition of a loving husband, devoted father, proud grandfather, and loyal brother. But deep down, his greatest joy in life was his family. His love was steady, selfless, and bigger than life itself. To be loved by Jeffrey was to be blessed beyond measure.
His legacy will live on in the family he adored, in the faith he carried, and in every life he quietly touched.
Those who were fortunate enough to know him will forever carry a piece of him in their hearts.
