Jerome Alan Ponder

Mr. Jerome Alan Ponder, age 68 of Pensacola, FL, departed this life Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
He was born January 11, 1944 to Edward Ponder, who survives, and the late Ruby Mae Grace Ponder. A native of Gadsden, Alabama, his previous residences include Arkansas and Mobile, Alabama. He most recently lived in Pensacola, Florida, where he moved in 1984. Mr. Ponder served in the United States Air Force for four years as a Russian translator while stationed in Turkey. After his service to the country, he was a manager in retail sales before retiring in 2006. He enjoyed fishing and photography and loved going to the beach.
Mr. Ponder leaves as his survivors, a daughter, Dawn Ponder of Pensacola, FL; his father, Edward Ponder and wife Jo of Bolivar; a stepsister, Jo Ann Murray of Houston, TX; a brother, Archie Ponder of Oklahoma; and two nieces, Alexa Murray and Andrea Murray.
In addition to his mother, he is preceded in death by a son, David Ponder.
