Jerome Yopp

Jerome (Pop) Yopp, age 75, died peacefully at his home on June 5, 2012



The husband of Linda Yopp, who survives, he was a lifelong resident and businessman of Middleton, having owned and operated Yopp's C Stores in Middleton, Grand Junction, Whiteville and the State line from 1975-1995. He also owned and operated Yopp's Used Cars from 1995 to the present. He was born in Middleton, son of the late Willam and Lucille Yopp and was a member of the South Middleton church of Christ. He was a devoted father and grandfather and dedicated coach. He dearly loved his family and greatly enjoyed his kids, grandkids and great grandkids. Pop played sports and coached baseball and softball and was affectionately called "Coach" and "Pop" by many.



In addition to his wife, whom he married on April 22, 1953, he is survived by two daughters, Kathy Dawkins (Craig) and Cindy Yopp, both of Middleton; a son, Sandy Yopp of Middleton; a sister, Fannie Miller of Middleton; five grandsons, Jon Yopp (Monica) of Saulsbury, Jeremy Dawkins (Portia) of Nashville, Josh Yopp (Amy)

of Middleton, B.J. Dawkins (Amanda) of Union City, Brent Dawkins (Heaven) of Selmer; and eight great grandchildren who were the center of his world, Dru Yopp, Abby Yopp, Aidan Yopp, Eli Yopp, Logan Dawkins, Camden Dawkins, Brynley Dawkins and Brittan Dawkins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Brad Yopp and a brother, Warren Yopp.
