Jerry B. Alexander was born on January 30, 1938, the son of the late John P. and Minnie Handley Alexander. On June 18, 1980, he was united in marriage to Joann McFall, who survives. Jerry departed this life on June 5, 2017, at the age of 79 years, 4 months, and 6 days.
Jerry served in the United States National Guard. He was a member of Savannah Church of Christ and a former member of the Jaycees. Before retiring, Jerry was part owner of Alexander Pontiac and Oldsmobile and owner of Alexander Motor and Rentals. He enjoyed traveling and working in his yard and river lots.
In addition to his wife, Jerry is survived by his stepdaughters, Regina Wyatt and husband Tommy of Adamsville, Tennessee and Lisa Neill and husband Kelvin of Savannah, Tennessee; a stepson, Tim Hight and wife Judy of Nashville, Tennessee; a grandchild, Josh Alexander; four step grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and three step great great grandchildren.
Along with his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his son, Chris P. Alexander; sisters, Opal Hall, Vera Gardner, and Edith Castelli; and brothers,
J.P. Alexander, Jr., Max H. Alexander, and Wilbur Alexander.
