Jerry Wayne Dunaway

Jerry Wayne Dunaway, 74, of Jackson, passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2023.

He was born in Hardeman County on August 27, 1948, to the late Joseph Franklin Dunaway and Frankie Evelyn Lambert.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife, Beverly Dunaway; brothers, James Raymond, Larry Joe and Jimmy Dunaway; and a sister, Bernice Cannon.

He grew up in Whiteville, TN and moved to Jackson, TN where he later became a truck driver for Jeff Drake Logging Company for 30 years.

He was well loved and never met a stranger.  A very outgoing man, he was loved and will be dearly missed.  He enjoyed being at the Tennessee River, fishing and watching Gunsmoke and Andy Griffith every morning while drinking his coffee.  He liked having a milkshake every evening before going to bed.

Mr. Jerry is survived by his children, Faye Lynn Cannon (Wayne) of Whiteville, Tommy Lee Dunaway of Beech Bluff, TN and Robert Dunaway of Jackson; grandchildren, Terri Dunaway, Robert Dunaway, Jr., Dawson Price, Blake Reeves, Marie Baker, Ashlynn Baker, Samantha Baker, Paige Dellinger, Allison Cannon, Jerry Cannon, Chloe Cannon, Patrick Reeves, Austin Reeves, Dustin Bray and Anthony Dunaway; and 20 great-grandchildren.
