Mr. Henley died Sunday morning, February 10, 2013, at his home near Somerville.
A native and long-time resident of Fayette County, Mr. Henley was the son of the late Audrey Burton Henley and Clara Graham Henley, who survives. He married Dorothy Jean Howard on August 18, 1962. They were married over 50 years, at the time of his passing. He worked as a Tractor Trailer Driver for Rhea Oil Company for many years and was a devoted faithful member of the Eagle Ministry House of Prayer. He especially loved the Pastor of the church, Bro. Larry West.
In addition to work and church, Mr. Henley was particularly fond of the Christmas season, spending many hours, days and weeks preparing decorations for his home, making sure all the outside lights were working as they should. He also enjoyed working puzzle books and most of all - playing with his grandchildren.
He leaves as his survivors, his wife, Dorothy Henley of Somerville; two daughters, Lisa Taylor and her husband, Bobby, of Somerville and Barbara Taylor and her husband, Donald, of Somerville; his son, with whom he shares a birthday, Jerry Lynn Henley of Somerville; his mother, Clara Henley of Somerville; three sisters, Janice Lax of Somerville, Brenda Henson of Whiteville and Linda Kirkland of Toone; 7 grandchildren - Jerry Allen Taylor, Pearlie LaDawn Taylor, Daphne King, Crystal Hayes and her husband,
Jesse, Dylan Taylor, Andrea and Brooke Henley; 5 great-grandchildren - Kayleigh, Kyndal and Bryson Hayes, Loralei and Jayden Henley.
Mr. Henley also leaves behind his beloved pet dog, FeFe.
In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by four brothers, Audrey Burton Henley (Jr.), Bobby Glenn Henley, Terry Henley and Jimmy Henley.
