Jerry C. Moore

October 12, 1944 — February 5, 2016

Mr. Moore passed away Friday morning, February 5, 2016 at Tennova Regional Healthcare in Jackson.

A native of Hornsby, he was raised there before moving away as a teen-ager. The son of the late Herbert Carnell and Vera Dunnahoe Moore, he served his country in the US Army for 20 years, achieving the rank of Sergeant, First Class before retirement. During his military service, Mr. Moore did 2 tours of duty in Vietnam.

After leaving the Army, he owned and operated his own electrical company. On November 4, 1976 , he was united in marriage to Mary Falk. The Moore's returned to this area in 1982, first in McNairy County before settling back home near Hornsby to live. A member of the Church of Christ and a very family-oriented man, he enjoyed fishing, raising racking horses and genealogical research.

In addition to his wife, Mary, he is survived by a son, Rainer A. Moore of Michigan City, IN; 2 sisters, Mae (Alfred) Thompson of Quito, TN and Sharon (Mike) Berkes of Bartlett; 2 brothers, Wayne Moore of Middleton and Donald (Helen) Moore of Corinth; 3 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Moore is preceded in death by his daughter, Diana Moore; and a brother, Ben Moore.
