Jerry C. Morris

Mr. Jerry C. Morris, age 73 of Medon, Tennessee, passed away Tuesday afternoon, June 24, 2014 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

Mr. Morris was born in Henderson, Tennessee August 16, 1940 to the late James P. and Cynthia Lorene Whitten Morris. On February 7, 1980, he was united in marriage to Mrs. Jeanne Morris, who survives. He spent most of his life in this area, other than a few years in Memphis. He worked for 20 years at Bolivar General Hospital in the maintenance department and also worked in auto parts sales. He attended Silerton Baptist Church, and his hobbies included fishing, "tinkering", yard work, watching NASCAR and spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, survivors include two sons, Lane Diffee of Millington, and Greg Diffee (Tresha) of Jackson; three sisters, Virginia Hatch of Illinois, Dale Russom of Jackson, and Melba Hughes of Lavinia, TN; three brothers, Leonard Morris of Hickory Corner, Leon Morris of Tampa, FL, and Art Morris of Sutherlin, OR; nine grandchildren, Robin Smith, Tristan Timbs, Mackenzie Keller, Kayleigh Timbs, Kayla Thornsberry, Gregory "Peanut" Diffee, Katie Thornsberry, Grayson Diffee and Teegan River Diffee; two great-grandchildren, Addyson Winchell, and Gabriel Smith; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Jeri Lynn Timbs; and a brother, Donald Morris.
