Jerry Shelly departed this life on Saturday, August 25, 2012, at the age of 70 years, 9 months, 29 days.Jerry was born in Dyer County, Tennessee on October 27, 1941, the son of the late Newton Lorenzo and Murley Alice Quinn Shelly. On November 25, 1960, he was united in marriage to Jimmie White, who survives. Jerry was the Fire Chief with the Savannah Fire Department and had previously served on the Dyersburg Fire Department for 30 years. He was an avid sportsman, his favorites were hunting and fishing. Jerry was a member of the Hopewell Baptist Church in Savannah.He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Jimmie Shelly of Savannah, Tennessee; daughters, Lynette Shelly Ezell of Atlanta, Georgia and Amy Shelly Adkisson of Savannah, Tennessee; grandchildren, Anna Creswell, Shelly Ezell, Taylor Ezell, JM Ezell, Libby Ezell, Micah Lyn Ezell, Addy Adkisson and Abram Adkisson; brother, Wayne Shelly of Bridgeview, Illinois; sister, Brenda Shelly Bendel of Lake Forest, Illinois; sister-in-law, Sherri Ballinger of Dyersburg, Tennessee; brothers-in-law, Tom White and Estel White both of Dyersburg, Tennessee.
