Beech Bluff, TN: Jerry Lee Weir, age 78, passed from this earth April 17, 2023, at his home, after a valiant battle with cancer.
He was born May 10, 1944, in Beech Bluff, the son of the late Vernon and Ruby Edna Seeley Weir. He grew up on a farm and graduated from the school of hard knocks. While in his late teens, he met and fell in love with Jane Randolph Pusser. They were married on May 4, 1963. During their nearly sixty years together, he and Jane raised three sons.
Mr. Weir is survived by his wife, Jane Weir; and three sons, Jeffrey Lynn Weir (Ann) of Henderson, Michael Lee Weir of Pinson, and Patrick Andrew Weir (Marie) of Jacksonville, FL; two grandchildren, Cody Lynn Weir and Ally Marie Weir and three great grandchildren; a sister, Linda Goodrum of Hornsby and a brother, Joe Allen Weir of Beech Bluff.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Patsy Ruffin and Mary Warren, a brother, Jimmy Weir a daugher-in-law Margaret Weir and a grandson Brandon Weir.
He was a member of the Mason Wells Baptist Church.
He loved his family and his farm. He spent his days caring for both. He was always willing to lend a hand when one was needed.
Jerry was a kind thoughtful soul and will be missed and remembered by the many lives he touched. He was taken home to be with the father all to soon. He was a steadfast friend.
Jerry enjoyed farming. He took pride in working his land and providing for his family with the fruits of his labor.
He worked at Madison Millwork nearly thirty years. He raised fruits and vegetables and operated a produce stand on North Highland in Jackson, Weir’s Family Produce.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, April 20th at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Frank Harris, Danny Ray and Randy Pickens officiating. Burial will follow at Big Springs Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Wednesday.
