Jerry W. White

Mr. Jerry Wayne White of Middleton departed this life at the age of 74 years, 7 months, and 11 days at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis.
He was born in Adamsville on October 30, 1937 to the late Herschel and Laura Irene White. On December 9, 1961 he was united in marriage to Alice Ann Mitchell, who preceded him in death June 12, 1998. He moved to Memphis in 1963 and later to Springfield, Ohio in 1987. He worked as a robot programmer that painted cabs at International Harvester. After his retirement in 1996 he returned to west Tennessee, settling in Middleton where he was a member fo the American Legion. He was also a member of the Macon Church of Christ.
Mr. White served his country in the United States Army for over four years, during which time he was stationed in Germany. He was proud of his service and loved learning war history. Among his hobbies, he particularly enjoyed buiding Civil War cannons.
He leaves as his survivors a son, Greg White and wife Tina of Memphis; two grandsons, Jeff White of Murfreesboro and Cody White of Memphs; and a brother, Gene White.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Carter White.
