Jesse Leon Singleton, Sr. died Thursday afternoon, March 5, 2020 at Adamsville Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Adamsville, TN.
Leon was born in Lexington, TN on December 10, 1942, son of the late Lonzo Perry and Gracie Britt Singleton. He grew up in Lexington and married Rose Marie Nash on July 10, 1965. They made their home in Pinson, TN. He served 8 years in the TN National Guard, 23rd Armored Division in Jackson. He worked at McCowat Mercer Packaging in Jackson for 40 years, retiring in 2008. He was a very active person in life and enjoyed bodybuilding, playing checkers, fishing and bowling. He played in a bowling league for several years.
He is survived by his wife Rose of Pinson; a son Jesse Leon Singleton, Jr. and wife Connie of Pinson; two grandchildren Jesse Leon Singleton III and Jessica Leann Singleton; a great granddaughter Temperance Rose Patterson; a brother William Singleton and wife Virginia of Jackson; three sisters Shirley Ray and husband Billy of Jackson, Katherine Gant of Beech Bluff, and Helen Britt of Lexington.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers Marshall, Elmer, and Hamilton Singleton; and three sisters Marie Taylor, Beatrice Johnson and Liddie Mae Singleton.
The family will be having a memorial service at a later date. There are no scheduled services at the funeral home.
