Jessie Mae Middleton Cummings
was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on October 21, 1935 the daughter of the late William Dick and Lanta Mae Franks Middleton.
On December 31, 1950 she was united in marriage to J. L. Cummings, who preceded his wife in death on June 15, 2011.
Jessie retired from a garment factory, where she worked in the hemming department. She loved going to church and attended Souls Harvest Church. Jessie loved to worship the Lord and read her Bible. She enjoyed dancing, cooking and spending time with her grandchildren. Jessie never met a stranger, she loved people.
She departed this life on Thursday, September 9, 2021 in Nashville, Tennessee at the age of 85 years, 10 months and 19 days.
Jessie is survived by her children, Judy Neill, Betty Wilson and her husband Ricky, and Sheila Collier and her husband Winford, all of Savannah, Tennessee; grandchildren, Ricky Cummings, Christina Johnson, Jamie Cummings, Charity Frazier, Jonathan Neill, Jason Young, Shane Collier, and Samantha Harville; 14 great grandchildren; and sister, Faye Middleton of Savannah, Tennessee.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one son, Robert Cummings, one grandson, Joshua Young, four brothers, and four sisters.
