Jim Cummins

Jim Cummins of Collinwood, TN was born April 8, 1920 in Wayne Co., TN, the son of the late Newt and Emmaline Banks Cummins. He married Roxie Lee Jones and she preceded him in death on April 21, 2009.

Mr. Cummins was a sawmill worker and departed this life on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, Tennessee at the age of 96 Years, 11 Months, 24 Days.

He is survived by a daughter, Marta Cummins; a grandchild, Delesea Burleson; a grt-grandchild, Thomas Burleson; a grt-grt-grandchild, Maicee Burleson all of Collinwood, TN; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Cummins was preceded in death by brothers, Allen, Lincoln, Prince and Garland Cummins; sisters, Clarise McFall, Ruth Heard, Elsie Staggs, Lillie Keeton, Pearl Cummins and 3 infant sisters.

Services will be Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at 3:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel, Collinwood, Tennessee, with Richard Bane officiating. Burial will follow in McGlamery Cemetery, Collinwood, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing. Pallbearers will be Kurt Holt, Kent Holt, Ronnie Burleson, Jerry Ayers, Mark Whitney, Thomas Burleson and John Heard.

Visitation will be Monday, April 3, 2017 from 6 pm to 9 pm and Tuesday, April 4, 2017 from 11 am until service time at the funeral home.
