JIM CUPPLES
Finger, TN: William Atlas Cupples, Jr., age 83 passed away Saturday morning November 26, 2016 at his home.
He was born April 28, 1933 in the Deanburg community of Chester County, the son of the late William Atlas Cupples, Sr. and Bessie Jean Wyatt Cupples. He went to school in the Deanburg area and then Chester County High School. He farmed as a young man and later became a carpenter and also worked for Asplundh Expert Company. He was a contract carpenter. He married Ada Marie Austin in 1952. They made their home in Chester County. Mrs. Cupples passed away in 2000. He loved to hunt, play cards with his great grandchildren.
Mr. Cupples is survived by a son, Tony Cupples of Henderson; one granddaughter, Chasity Hornburger and husband Kipp and three great grandchildren, Aiden Cupples, Bree Hornburger and Callan Hornburger and one sister, Bernice Buckley of Henderson.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ada Marie Austin Cupples in 2000, a daughter, Shelia Cupples in 1981, a brother, Jimmy Glenn Cupples and two sisters, Maurice Rinks and Betty Porter.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel with Mark Pendergrass officiating. Burial will follow in Owens Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Casey Chapel beginning at 10:00 AM Tuesday until 2:00 PM Tuesday service time.
