For 33 years, Jim devoted his career to the University of Memphis, where his commitment to maintaining the facilities ensured that students and staff alike could benefit from a well-kept environment. After retiring 18 years ago, he continued to enjoy life, cherishing the time spent with his family and grandchildren, who were his pride and joy.
Jim had settled in Bolivar twelve years ago, finding peace and community in the area. His love for his family was a cornerstone of his life; he found great satisfaction in sharing moments with his granddaughters, Amber Parramore of Memphis and Abigail Demarest of Nashville, creating memories that will forever be cherished.
Jim is survived by his son, Allen Raines of Saulsbury, who remembers him with great admiration and love. He also leaves behind cherished memories as a grandfather to his granddaughters, who carry forward his legacy of warmth and affection.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Robbie Raines, whose companionship enriched his life beyond measure. Jim’s family also included his father, Fred Raines, and mother, Ella Mae Raines, along with his deceased siblings: Charles Raines, Frances Conner, Wanda Leach, and an infant brother, and his daughter, Amanda Parramore. Each of these individuals played a role in shaping the man he became, and they remain a part of his legacy.
Jim Raines’ life was a testament to dedication and familial love. He will be fondly remembered by his family and friends as a steadfast presence who brought joy to those around him. His spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
