Jimmie Dale Forsyth, born on August 1, 1943, in McNairy County, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2025, in Selmer, Tennessee. She was a dedicated servant, having begun a career with Shackelford Funeral Directors in 1965 and serving the people of McNairy County and the surrounding area for over five decades until her retirement in 2016. As the longest tenured employee in the 100-year history of Shackelford, she had the honor of assisting thousands of families during their times of need, always approaching her work with compassion and professionalism.

Jimmie's educational journey began at Selmer High School.  She furthered her studies at Jackson State Community College and Draughn's Business College, laying a strong foundation that would contribute to her impressive career. Her commitment to her profession was matched by her vibrant personal interests; she found joy in gardening and tending to her yard, which were among her favorite pastimes. Her creativity flourished during Saturday nights spent attending ceramics classes in Crump, where she delighted in crafting and painting sculptures, often producing charming variations of Santa Claus.

An excellent cook and baker, Jimmie was particularly well-known for her delectable red velvet cake, a cherished family specialty. She also had a love for collecting old movies and "Belky Bears," and spent many enjoyable hours watching Westerns, with a special fondness for the classic series "Gunsmoke."

Jimmie was a member of First United Methodist Church in Selmer.

Jimmie is survived by her loving siblings: Robert Forsyth and wife Linda, Greg Forsyth and wife Katherine, William Hailey Forsyth and wife Janice, and Tommie Smith. In addition, she is survived by eleven nieces and nephews and numerous great-nieces and nephews who will fondly remember her warmth and kindness.

She was preceded in death by her parents, R. F. and Perry Dee Smith Forsyth, and her brothers, Richard Forsyth and Ronnie Forsyth.

Jimmie Dale Forsyth will be deeply missed, but her legacy of kindness, dedication, and love for her family and community will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
