Jimmie Lenis Smith

Lenis Seratt Smith was born December 4, 1934 in Chester County, TN the daughter of the late James Henry Seratt and Lille Margaret Wilson. She attended school in Chester County and was married to Lonnie Smith on December 31, 1954. They made their home in Memphis for 17 years before moving to Halls, Tennessee and living there for 17 years. They later made their home in Jackson. She was a member of the Robbins Street Primitive Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting, sewing and gardening.

Mrs. Smith departed this life on March 29, 2017 in Jackson, Tennessee at the age of 82 Years, 3 Months, 25 Days.


She is survived by her husband Lonnie Smith of Jackson, TN; two daughters, Linda Bridges and husband Nathan of Memphis, TN, Lori Smith and husband Anthony of Enville, Tn; two grandchildren, Adam Bridges, and Emily Bridges.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by two sisters, Sula Patterson, Julia Travis Ferguson; three brothers, Melvin Seratt, Brancy Seratt, James Sylvester Seratt.

Services will be held on April 1, 2017 at 4:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors-Johnson Chapel in Henderson, Tennessee, with Bro. Paul Scott and Elder Dennis Seratt officiating. Burial will follow in the Cave Springs Cemetery at Chester County, Tennessee.
