Jimmy Dale (Jim) Charlton of Waynesboro, TN was born October 6, 1956 in Paris, TN, the son of Maxine Watkins Charlton of Paris, TN, who survives and the late Harvin (Scoot) E. Charlton.
Mr. Charlton was a retired construction worker, having worked as a residential home builder, industrial carpenter for 30 years, coastal docks and waterfront constructor, carpentry instructor for specialized training classes and former employee of Big John's in Waynesboro, TN. Jim was a raconteur.
He departed this life Sunday, October 15, 2017 at his home at the age of 61 Years, 9 Days.
Other than his mother, he is survived by a daughter, Mary Beth Wylie and husband, Lance of Waynesboro, TN; grandchildren, Jacob and Gracie Wylie; brothers, Billy Charlton of Waynesboro, TN, Robert Charlton and Arty Charlton and wife, Tonya all of Calvert City, KY; sister, Doris Underwood and husband, Ken of Kentz, GA; stepmother, Lilly Charlton; stepsisters, Faye Barrett, Jossie Childers, Dora Carlson and Della Brewer; numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, Mr. Charlton was preceded in death by a stepbrother, Louie Dismore.
Memorial services will be Thursday, October 19, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Green River Baptist Church, Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Eric Underwood officiating. Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County is assisting the family.
Memorial donations may be given to the family in lieu of flowers.
