Jimmy ‘Jim’ Essary
Henderson: Jimmy ‘Jim’ Essary, age 69, passed away at his home early Saturday morning, June 11, 2016.
He was born and reared in Chester County, TN, the son of Beautaun Wood Essary and the late Kenneth T. Essary. He went to school in Chester County and graduated from Chester County High school in 1965. He joined the Tennessee Army National Guard serving several years. In 1976 he married Linda Rush also of Chester County and they made their home in the Henderson area. Jim started work in 1978 with Lofton Chevrolet in Henderson and in 1979 Jim became a part owner in the business. Then in 1993 he became president of Lexington Chevrolet in Lexington, TN until 2011.
He loved to read and study the Bible, old cars and going to car auctions. He also loved getting collectables and sports like tennis, golf, football and baseball. He was a member and a deacon and a Sunday school teacher, at Grace Baptist Church in Pinson, TN.
He is survived by his mother Beautaun Essary, his wife of 40 years; Linda Essary, two sons; Jason Essary and wife Alaina of Summertown, TN and Justin Essary and wife Katie of Knoxville, TN and a sister Darlene Guinn and husband David of Henderson, 5 grandchildren; Scarlett, Vivian, and Arie Essay and River and Finley McClure.
Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday at the Grace Baptist Church in Pinson ,TN, June 14, 2016 with Bro. Chuck Hood and Bro. Ronnie Geary officiating. Burial will follow in Roby Cemetery in Chester County.
The family will receive friends at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Monday and beginning Tuesday 8:00 AM until 12:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Grace Baptist Church Building Fund.
