Jimmy Paul Martin

Jimmy Paul Martin, who was born on June 8, 1943, in Adamsville, TN, to the late J.P. Martin and Anna Demovah Gilchrist Martin.

On October 13, 1990, Jimmy Paul was untied in marriage to Maye Browder Conder, creating a bond filled with love and companionship. A member of the Falcon Baptist Church in Selmer, TN, he lived out his faith wholeheartedly, sharing the joys of the Lord with everyone around him.

For 20 years, Jimmy Paul dedicated his working life to General Electric before moving on to Walmart in Selmer. His passions included fishing, the thrill of racing of all kinds, and coon hunting, which brought him great joy and a sense of adventure. His legacy of generosity and commitment to the community is exemplified by his role as one of the original organizers for the St. Jude Benefit Hunt in Decaturville, TN, and his participation in coon hunter clubs over the years.

Jimmy Paul was known for his honesty, outgoing spirit, and caring nature. He had a remarkable gift for connecting with others, always ready to share a joke or speak about his love for the Lord.

Mr. Martin departed this life on June 8, 2025, in Selmer, Tennessee, at the age of 82. As we remember him, we celebrate a life well-lived, filled with kindness, faith, and a passion for the joys of those around him. His spirit will continue to inspire all who had the privilege to know him.

He is survived by his wife, Maye Conder Martin of Selmer, TN; two sisters, Ann Kirk of Memphis, TN, Lavenia Davidson and husband Hardy of Savannah, TN; stepdaughters, Mary Conder of Selmer, TN, and Linda Lahtti of Ripley, TN; brother-in-law, James Lynn Martin of Stantonville, TN; daughter-in-law, Donna Conder of Selmer, TN; 3 step grandchildren, 3 step great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Martin was preceded in death by a sister, Kathy Wagoner; two stepsons, Keith Conder and Brent Conder Sr.
