Jimmy Cleveland Skelton

Jimmy Cleveland Skelton of Waynesboro, TN was born June 17, 1941 in Waynesboro, Tennessee, the son of the late Obie Kirk Skelton and Bessie Whitehead Skelton Potete. He was united in marriage to Anita Faye Harrington on November 2, 1962.



Mr. Skelton was a retired machine operator with Dana Corporation and had worked with Genesco, Angelica, various sawmills, and was a self employed logger.



Mr. Skelton departed this life on Wednesday, August 11, 2010 in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 69 Years, 1 Month, 25 Days.



He is survived by his wife, Anita Faye Skelton of Waynesboro, TN; four daughters, Angelia Jones of Centerville, TN, Sherry McDonald and husband John of Waynesboro, TN, Lisa Garrett and husband Michael of Waynesboro, TN, Regina Boyd and husband Michael of Waynesboro, TN; grandchildren, Tara Christian Crews and husband, Josh, Tyler McDonald, Jeremy Butler, Nick Skelton and wife, Alicea, Colby McDonald, Coty Garrett, Caitlin Butler, Cameron Garrett, Kaci Boyd; great-grandchildren, Anne Marie Crews, Rylee Skelton; a brother, Virgil Skelton of Waynesboro, TN; three sisters, Mabel Tuverson of Mt.Juliet, TN, Nancy Lankford of Lebanon, TN, Loretta Burgess of Waynesboro, TN; several nieces and nephews.



In addition to his parents, Mr. Skelton was preceded in death by a brother, Gerald Skelton.



Services will be held on Friday, August 13, 2010 at 9:00 AM at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Family Members officiating. Burial will follow in the Skelton Cemetery, Waynesboro, Tennessee

Pallbearers will be Tyler and Colby McDonald, Coty Garrett, Nick Skelton, Jeremy Butler, Josh Crews. Honorary pallbearer will be Cameron Garrett.



Visitation will be Thursday, August 12, 2010 from 4 pm to 9 pm and Friday, August 13, 2010 from 8 am until service time at the funeral home.
