Jimmy Van Wells was born March 29, 1938 in the son of the late Clarence Owen Wells and Johnnie Lee Lott Wells. He attended School in the New Friendship Community of Chester County and later Chester County High School. He was united in marriage to Bobbie Nell Williams on October 16, 1955. They moved to Chicago and lived there for five years before returning to Chester County where for the last 45 years he had operated Jimmy Wells Discount Grocery and Furniture Store. Mr Wells was a strong supporter of the Mifflin Community and was the founder of The Mifflin Day that is celebrated each year in August .He was a member of the Mifflin Baptist Church and a member of the Juno Masonic Lodge.
Mr. Wells departed this life on March 18, 2012 in Beech Bluff, Tennessee at the age of 73 Years, 11 Months, 18 Days.
He is survived by his wife Bobbie Nell (Williams) Wells of Beech Bluff, TN; a son, Tim Wells of Mifflin, Tn; a sister, Betty Ross of Beech Bluff, Tn; four brothers, Charlie Wells of Cherokee, Al, Clarence Wells of Jackson, Tn, Tom Wells of Beech Bluff, Tn, Bobby Wells of Beech Bluff, Tn; three grandchildren, Bryan Wells, Blake Wells, Blair Wells.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Wells was preceded in death by a son, Jim Edward (Eddie) Wells in 1993.
