Jo Ann Barksdale

Mrs. Jo Ann Barksdale, age 73 of Bolivar, Tennessee, departed this life Wednesday morning, March 1, 2017 at her daughter's home in Spring Hill, Tennessee.

Mrs. Barksdale was born Friday, July 23, 1943 to the late Howard and Willie Mae Hickerson Joyce in Gibson Wells, Tennessee. On Saturday, November 7, 1959, she was united in marriage to Mr. Buddy Barksdale, who survives. She worked as a homemaker and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bolivar. She enjoyed golf, shopping and traveling, and was a season ticket holder for University of Tennessee football games.

In addition to her husband of 57 years, she is survived by her daughter, Sherry Barksdale Hill and husband Gaius of Spring Hill; three grandchildren, Audrey Joyce Hill of Gallatin, Elena Leigh Knaffl of Nashville, and Rebecca Reeder of Tampa, Florida; a sister, Helen Dean Cole of Dyersburg; a brother, Howell Joyce of Gibson Wells; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Maxine Edwards; and two brothers, Walton Joyce and James Joyce.
