Jo H. Hibbitt

Jo Hilda Melton Hibbitt was born March 23, 1928 in Jackson, TN the daughter of the late Burt and Mable Lawler Melton. Mrs.Hibbitt departed this life on September 30, 2015 in Jackson, Tennessee at the age of 87 Years, 6 Months, 7 Days.

She grew up and attended school in Madison County, TN. She married James Curtis Hibbitt, Sr. in 1945. She spent her adult life as a homemaker. She enjoyed sewing, spending time with family, going on trips and going out to eat. She was a member of the Pinson Baptist church.

She is survived by two daughters, Coylene Whitman of Henderson, TN, Marilyn Moncier and husband Johnny of Medon, TN, ; three sons, Buster Wayne Hibbitt and wife Aileen of Covington Georgia, Roy Gene Hibbitt and wife Brenda of Nicholson Georgia, David Hibbitt of Pinson, TN; a sister, Carliss Gribbs of Jackson, TN; 13 Grandchildren, 12 Great Grandchildren, 2 Great Great Grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs.Hibbitt was preceded in death by a son, James Hibbitt Jr.; two sisters, Betty Cogburn, Peggy Vinson; and two brothers, Burt Melton Jr., Rodney Melton.
