JO ANN IVY

Lexington, TN: Jo Ann Powell Ivy, age 88, passed away March 18, 2026, at Henderson County Community Hospital.

She was born Feb. 2, 1938, in Sardis, TN, the daughter of the Late Lynn and Annie Pitts Powell. She grew up in Milledgeville and graduated from Milledgeville High School.

She was saved in 1952 and was baptized in the TN River at Saltillo. She was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Selmer.

She married James Harold Ivy on November 6, 1957. Mr. Ivy preceded her in passing on January 30, 2008.

She enjoyed working with her son mowing yards, quilting and working at Petra Harvest as a volunteer.

In addition to her family, she leaves behind her beloved little dog, Gismo, whom she loved very much.

The family would like to especially thank Sharon Page (close friend, coworker and caregiver) and Darlene Powell (a special niece and caregiver).

Mrs. Ivy is survived by a son, William Carroll Ivy (Janet) of Reagan; two grandchildren, Kati Newton and Kelsey Maness (Jacob) and four great grandchildren, Noah Newton, Kayleigh Newton, Eleanor Maness and Everett Maness.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Harold Ivy; two brothers, James Mackey Powell and Johnny Powell and two sisters, Flora Mae Jones and Louise Grooms.

Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Thursday, March 26th at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue. Burial will follow at Roby Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue Chapel on Thursday from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
