Jo Ann Ross
was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on February 18, 1937 the daughter of the late Joseph Silas Rickman and Nona Evelyn Glover Rickman Gray.
On December 27, 1980 she was united in marriage to George Ross, who survives.
Mrs. Ross was a waitress for Pickwick Landing State Park Restaurant for 35 years. She had also worked for Hagy's Catfish Hotel through high school, River Heights Restaurant, and Brown Shoe Company in Selmer, Tennessee. She liked canning, gardening, and feeding the birds. Mrs. Ross had a loving heart for people and enjoyed helping the indigent. She was a member of the Shiloh United Methodist Church and enjoyed working with church projects.
Mrs. Ross departed this life on October 2, 2010 at the age of 73 years, 7 months, 14 days.
In addition to her husband, George, Mrs. Ross is survived by a son, Terry "Po" Brown and wife Stella of Smyrna, Tennessee; 2 daughters, Jan Renee Brown of Crump, Tennessee and Sammie Jo Hardy and husband Ricky of Henderson, Tennessee; 4 grandchildren, Charlie Brown, Jeannie Danielle Morgan, Samantha Hardy, and Shelby Hardy; a great grandchild, Caroline Grace Brown; 2 brothers, Terry Rickman of Maryville, Tennessee and C.D. Rickman of Nashville, Tennessee; 2 sisters, Mary Ruth Driskell of Shiloh, Tennessee and Jeannie Sloan of Crump, Tennessee; a brother-in-law, Jimmy Ross of Cincinnati, Ohio.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a step dad, Jamie Gray.
