Joann Horton

Joann Franks Horton was born August 22, 1947 in Wayne County, Tennessee the daughter of the late Dee and Ester Brewer Franks. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband February 12, 1998, Charles L. Horton; a brother, Austin Ray Franks; six sisters, Marie Prince, Nita Dugger, Mary Lou Kiddy, Ruby Dugger, Josephine Franks, and Mary Ellen Franks. Mrs. Horton departed this life Monday, April 25, 2011 at Wayne Medical Center in Waynesboro at the age of 63 Years, 8 Months, 3 Days. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.



She is survived by two sons, Roy D. Horton and wife Jennifer of Collinwood and Edward James Lineberry of Ohio; 3 grandchildren, Cody Reeves, Jeff Daniels, and Missy Hunt all of Collinwood; two brothers, Ted Franks and wife Emmy of Waynesboro, TN, and Dee Junior Franks of Coldwater, MS;

four sisters, Sarah Andrews and husband Dairl and Shirley Whitehead and husband Carl all of Waynesboro, Pam Robertson and husband David of Collinwood, Peb Moore and husband Tim of Lawrenceburg, TN;

a special friend C.F. Pulley of Waynesboro; several nieces and nephews.



Services will be held Thursday, April 28, 2011 at 3:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Chapel in Waynesboro with Cal Hampton officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland United Methodist Church Cemetery with Shackelford Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.



Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00-9:00 PM and Thursday from 8:00 AM until service time.
