Joe Balentine

Joe Balentine was born on April 28, 1929 in Florence, AL, the son of the late Elmer and Mattie Stone Balentine.
In August of 1994 he was united in marriage to Linda Deshazier who survives, and with whom he spent his life for over 28 years.
Mr. Balentine was employed with Elam Trucking Company in Stantonville, TN. He had also been employed with East-West Motor Freight for 30 years, and was a truck driver for over 63 years in total.
He enjoyed listening to the music of Merle Haggard.
He departed this life on May 25, 2012 at the McNairy Regional Hospital at the age of 83 years and 27 days.
In addition to his wife he is survived by 4 daughters: Glenda Smith and husband Bob of Basalt, CO; Sandy Gratze and husband Jim of Aspen, CO; Peggy Balentine of Julian, CA; and Denise Murray and husband David of Joliet, TN.
One son, Rick Balentine and wife Bridgett of Aspen, CO.
One stepdaughter, Lisa Hawkins and two stepsons, Jimmy Brewer, and Terry Tharp and wife Rhonda, all of Savannah, TN.
Two brothers, Clifford Balentine and wife Irene of Savannah, TN, and Danny Balentine and wife Linda of Florence, AL.
Seven sisters, Eva Dean Woods, Francis Woods, Nita Clayton and husband Carl, Charlene Pope and husband Cliff, Martha Pitts and husband Eddie, Mildred McInnish, all of Florence, AL; and Pam Currotto and husband Bob of Lexington, AL.
13 Grandchildren, Eric, Jason, Cristy, Rachel, Crystal, Josie, Carrie, Jamie, Andrea, Lora, Nicole, Abby, and Presley
8 Step-grandchildren, Dustin, Dakota, Katlyn, Lindsey, Bryan Earl, Sarah Rose, Destony, and Nicole.
10 Great Grandchildren, Ava, Lana, Maddox, Dominick, Colton, Tom, Justin, Tanner, Mattie, Noah.
He was preceded in death only by his parents.
