Joe Barnes was born January 9, 1928 in Selmer, TN the son of the late Oscar and Ethel Cooper Barnes.
He was united in marriage to Virginia Kiser on April 28, 1945. Mrs. Barnes preceded him in death on September 21, 2012.
Mr. Barnes retired from Harmon Automotive in Bolivar, TN. He attended Falcon Baptist Church in Selmer, Tennessee. He loved fishing, hunting, playing rook and dominoes. He loved his wife, daughter, and having people visit him in his home.
Mr. Barnes departed this life on February 9, 2013 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 85 Years, 1 Month. He is survived by a daughter, Sandy (Barnes) Whitaker and husband Scotty of Selmer, TN; two sisters, Shirley Cheshier of Jackson, TN, Lessie Mae Baker of Adamsville, TN; host of nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Barnes was preceded in death by three sisters, Lola Mae Willis, Milo Teague, Helen Jean Barnes; five brothers, R.C. (Dick) Barnes, Marvin Barnes, Kirk Barnes, Cletis Barnes, Buford Barnes.
