Joe Neeley Briggs

September 9, 1930 — May 14, 2014

Joe N. Briggs was born September 9, 1930 in Corinth, MS the son of the late Forrest and Martha Nelms Briggs. Mr. Briggs worked in production and assembly for General Electric in Selmer and had also served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Briggs was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Selmer and Church of Christ in faith.

Some of his favorite pastimes were going to square dances, farming, working with his horses, his mules, and spending time with his family and friends.

Mr. Briggs departed this life on May 14, 2014 in Jackson, Tennessee at the age of 83 Years, 8 Months, 5 Days. He is survived by a son, Bobby Briggs and wife Marsha of Jackson, TN; three daughters, Robbie Briggs of Bolivar, TN, Trina Briggs of Dyersburg, TN, Juanita Collier of Middleton, TN; one sister, Bertha Mae Stewart of Guys, TN; nine grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Briggs was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.
