Mr. Siler passed away Sunday morning at the home of his daughter.
He was a native of Silerton, TN, where he grew up, the son the late Clifford Paul and Eathel Ivy Siler. In 1964, he moved to Jackson and in 1967 joined the Jackson Police Department. Mr. Siler achieved the rank of Lieutenant before his retirement in 1993 after 26 years of service. A member of the West Jackson Baptist Church, he also served in the Army National Guard and returned to Hardeman County 20 years ago. In his leisure time, he enjoyed his grandchildren, yard work, fishing (as a young man) and being outdoors.
He leaves his daughter, Kim (Steve) Luthe of Bolivar; his son, Mike Siler of Bolivar; his former wife, Glenda Siler of Bolivar; his granddaughter, Haley Siler; and grandsons, Jacob Siler and Bradley Miller; two great-grandchildren "on the way"; and three sisters, Patty Herriman of Cordova, Betty Stewart of Memphis and Mary Ann Russell of Bolivar.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Wayne Siler.
