Mr. Joe William Dolan,73, passed from this life on Tuesday morning, June 19, 2012 at his home in Bolivar.
Mr. Dolan was born January 3, 1939, to William and Barbara Harriett Whitworth Dolan in Greenfield, Tennessee. He moved to Bolivar when he was 2 years old and graduated from Bolivar Central High School, the class of 1957, and attended Union University On July 23, 1960, he married Mary Ruth Naylor. Mr. Dolan worked for Bolivar Energy Authority for 20 years, was a car salesman for Bolivar Ford and most recently managed the Hardeman County Farmer's Market. He taught Sunday School at Bolivar First Baptist Church where he was a member and served in the National Guard. He was a TSSAA Official for almost 40 years, refereeing basketball, football, and softball; he loved playing golf, and was active in the Hardeman County Golf and Country Club.
In addition to his wife Ruth, he is survived by daughters, Deborah Bryant and husband Tom of Lawrenceville, GA and Lisa Morris and husband Kevin of Bolivar; 2 grandchildren, Rachel and Jared Bryant; a niece, who was raised and loved as a daughter, Holly Galloway and husband, Brad of Middleton and by his cousins Joe "Buddy" Ward and wife Kay of Arlington, Nancy Pence and husband George of Memphis, and Barbara Dell Finn and husband Mike of Texas.
