Joe Sanford Freeman

Joe Sanford Freeman, age 74, died Friday, January 15, 2010 following a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. A life-long resident of Henderson, TN, he was a superintendent with Boyer-Johnson Kimes and Dement Construction Company and later with Hubbs Construction Co.An avid sports fan and outdoorsman, he was a standout football player for Chester Co. High School. Later, he enjoyed following first his son and then his grandchildren as they played sports. He also loved hunting, especially coon hunting.He is survived by his wife of nearly 54 years, Joie Ruth Cupples Freeman; his sons, Bret and his wife Gina Freeman of Greenwood, MS, and Scott Freeman of Henderson, TN; and his grandchildren, Hillary Freeman of Greenwood, MS, and Hunter Freeman of Henderson. He is also survived by his brother, A.L. Freeman of Memphis, TN; and his sisters Margaret Morris of Birmingham, AL and Martha Kelly of Jackson, TN.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Friendship Baptist Church.
