Joe DeWitt Jennings

was born in the Cerro Gordo Community on September 22, 1931 the son of the late Albert DeWitt and Clytie Fitts Jennings.

On August 5, 1956 he was united in marriage to Annie Mae Wilkes, who preceded her husband on February 6, 2017.

DeWitt served his country honorably in the United States National Guard.  He was self employed working in heating and air conditioning.  DeWitt loved working on automobiles and shooting guns.  He was a member of the Shriners and Savannah Church of Christ.

DeWitt departed this life on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 91 years, 8 months, and 22 days. 

He is survived by two sons, Gary Jennings and his wife Tammy of Savannah, Tennessee and Keith Jennings and his wife Camille of Adamsville, Tennessee; grandchildren, Cory Jennings, Justin Jennings, and Brandi Jennings; great great grandchildren, Alivia Jennings, Carly Jennings, and Carson Jennings; brother, Frank "Bud" Jennings of LaVergne, Tennessee; and sister-in-law, Jimmie Nell Jennings of Waynesboro, Tennessee.

In addition to his parents and wife, DeWitt was preceded in death by one sister, Doris Jennings Frisch; and two brothers, Dan Jennings and Marshall Emory Jennings.
