Joe Lunsford, Sr. was born in Avon Park, Florida on September 18, 1940 the son of the late William Carvel and Linnie Presley Lunsford.On August 18, 1960 he was united in marriage to Mary Sue Dixon, who survives.Mr. Lunsford retired as a millwright with Florida Millwright Local 1000 in Tampa, Florida. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Pinecrest, Florida and Second Creek Church of Christ. He was a family man, a devoted husband, father and grandfather, and devoted to the Lord.Mr. Lunsford departed this life on Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at the age of 70 years, 9 months, 11 days.He is survived by his wife, Mary Sue of Lutts, Tennessee; 2 sons, Joe E. Lunsford, Jr. of Lutts, Tennessee and Steve Lunsford of Savannah, Tennessee; 2 daughters, Susan Giguere of Athens, Alabama and Millie Rushlow of Waterloo, Alabama; 10 grandchildren, Laura Pope, Ryan Rushlow, Brendan Simmons, D.J. Rushlow, Kayla Lunsford, Kindle Lunsford, Jacob Lunsford, Andy Lunsford, Jake Futch, and Nikki Futch; 6 great grandchildren, Michael Pope, Makenzie Pope, Madi Pope, Kierra Futch, Kelsey Yerby, and Kyla Futch; 2 sisters, Linnie Hunter of Lithia, Florida and Myrtle Campbell of Jamestown, Tennessee; 3 brothers, Donald Lunsford, Paul Lunsford both of Lithia, Florida and Buel Lunsford of Waycross, Georgia.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Hunter; 3 brothers, Jack, Algie and William Lunsford.Services at a later in Florida.
