Joe Robert Henry was born May 14, 1927 in Henderson, TN, the son of the late Brodie and Bertha Barnes Henry.
He was united in marriage to Lois Marie Tacker on March 19, 1949.
Through the years, Mr. Henry was a Teacher in Adamsville, Coach at Bethel Springs, Principal at Finger and Manchester, Farmer and County Commissioner.
He was a member of the Purdy Lodge #132, 33rd degree Free and Accepted Mason, Scottish Rites in Corinth, MS, and Al Chemya Temple in Memphis, TN. He was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church. He served his country honorably in the United States Army during World War II.
He enjoyed farming, gardening activites and square dancing at the Purdy Community Center.
Mr. Henry departed this life on November 22, 2016 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 89 Years, 6 Months, 8 Days. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Marie Henry of Bethel Springs, TN; a son, Kenneth Dale Henry and wife Shannon of Bethel Springs, TN; a daughter, Robbie (Henry) Archer and husband Ralph of Iuka, MS; three grandchildren, Melissa (Henry) Brewer and husband Mike, Adam Archer and wife Darbi, Stephanie Archer Bullard and husband Austin; five great grandchildren, Morgan Brewer, Chloe Archer, Kate Bullard, Selah Archer, and Henry Bullard.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Henry was preceded in death by two sisters, Elva Henry, Mildred (Henry) Alford; a brother, Paul Henry.
