Joe Raymond Thomas

Henderson, TN: Joe Raymond Thomas, age 76, died July 22, 2009 at his home.He was born and reared in Chester County, the son of the late Raymond and Altha Morrison Thomas. He attended Chester County Schools and was married to Doris Rhodes in 1953. They made their home in Henderson. He and his brother owned and operated Thomas Brothers Grocery. Mr. Thomas was a farmer, row cropped, raised cattle and hogs. He also was a residential carpenter and was involved in Real Estate in Chester County. Mr. Thomas was a former member of the Tennessee National Guard. He is survived by a daughter, Donna Thomas Lombardo and husband Alan of Olive Branch, MS; two grandchildren, Joe and Julie Lombardo of Olive Branch, MS; a brother, James Thomas of Henderson and two sisters, Lillie Mae Weaver of Jacks Creek and Nina Maroney of Jackson.He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Rhodes Thomas in 2002.
