John Wrendall Baker was born on April 21, 1944, the son of the late Cleo Irving and Edith Lorena Love Baker. On November 7, 1981, he was united in marriage to Shirley Hammitt Baker, who survives. John departed this life on July 23, 2017, at the age of 73 years, 3 months, and 2 days.
John attended Savannah Church of Christ. He served in the United States Navy for four years and worked at PCA for 46 years. John enjoyed gardening, golfing, and riding his motorcycle. Watching his grandsons, Jake and John David Neidert, in the marching band and admiring his granddaughter, Bailey Grace Neidert's, artwork were some of his favorite things to do.
In addition to his wife, John is survived by his son, Joe Baker and wife Iris of Nashville, Tennessee; daughter, Krista Neidert and husband Jay of Loretto, Tennessee; and grandchildren, Bailey Grace, Jake, and John David Neidert.
Along with his parents, John was preceded in death by his daughter, Kimberly Bailey, his sister, Mary Lou Baker Dickerson, and his brother, David Baker.
