John Norman Boggs departed this life on Wednesday, July 8, 2015, at the age of 81 years, 1 month, 3 days. He was born June 5, 1934, the son of the late Dalton Jefferson and Annie Riddle Boggs.
John served in the United States Army. He worked for Pickwick Cole Marina as a night watchman. Everyone that knew him said when they came in he was always kicked back with his feet on his desk asleep. He had also worked for Weaver's in Corinth, Mississippi and had worked at a refrigerator factoy in Chicago, Illinois.
John had a love for everyone, and enjoyed football and hunting. Eating was his favorite pastime...you could never get him full and he loved to try to dance. He loved to discuss the Bible and was a member of the Center Hill Bapist Church, and was baptized in the river.
He is survived by his daughters, Annie Mae Boggs Yarber, Sarah Ann Boggs Derr, and Becky Lynn Boggs Roberts; Sisters, Jane Fowler, Darlene Knight, Bernice Hopper, Norma Wallace; grandchildren, Joe Yarber, Robert Derr, Gage Bishop, Cody Derr, Shanna McAfee, and Atlanta Bishop; great-grandchildren, Clay McAfee, Matthew Yarber, Lucas Derr, Abby Yarber, Emma Yarber, Mallorie McAfee, Esme McAfee, Allie Derr, and Katie Derr.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jeff Boggs; brothers, Travis Boggs, Truman Boggs, and Vernon Boggs; sisters, Eunice Boggs and Lavetta Boggs.
