John Akin Clendenin

Services will be held on Sunday, December 21, 2008 at 3:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Collinwood, Tennessee, with John Ives officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Gardens , Collinwood, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County in charge of the arrangements.



Visitation will be on Saturday, Dec. 20 from 6:00--9:00 pm and on Sunday, Dec. 21 from 11:00 am until service time at Shackelford Funeral Home, Collinwood



Mr. Clendenin departed this life on Wednesday, December 17, 2008 at Maury Regional Hospital in Columbia, Tennessee at the age of 78 Years, 7 Months, 1 Day. He was born May 16, 1930 in Wayne County, Tennessee the son of the late Carmack and Lura Conway Clendenin. In addition to his parents, Mr. Clendenin was preceded in death by brothers, Mack Clendenin, Jim Clendenin,



Mr. Clendenin served his country in the United States Navy for several years; a Insurance Agent and lived in Grand Turk Islands for 10 years in the motel and restaurant business . He attended UNA for several years. Mr. John was a member of Collinwood Methodist but attended Shawnettee Methodist Church.



He is survived by sister, Donna (Clendenin) Rich and husband J.W. of Collinwood, TN;
