John David "J.D." King, 88, of Selmer, passed from this life Friday, October 15, 2021, at his home.
A native of Hardeman County, he was born Sunday, September 24, 1933, son of the late Charlie W. King and Georgia Velma Smith King and lived most of his life around the area. He served in the US Army from Dec. 1953-1956 and was in the Reserves for two years after that. He was the retired owner of King's New & Used Furniture, enjoying working in his yard after his retirement and having and going to yard sales, auctions and flea markets.
Survivors include a daughter, Frieda King Greider of Lexington, TN; two sons, Randall King (Tina) of Milan and Jason King of Montgomery, AL; a sister, Lois Hill (Tillmon) of Bolivar; a brother, Avery King (Sharon) of Coldwater, MS; six grandchildren, Randy Byberg, Desiree Freeman, Felicia Moss, Ericka King, Samantha Bates and Jennifer Mills; and 3 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Beulah Bernice Brisco King, who died on April 5, 2016; and a brother, Wesley King.
