Mr. John Earl Trainum, Jr., age 76, of Eads, passed away Friday evening, October 9, 2015 at Baptist Hospital East in Memphis.
He was born September 30, 1939, in Hardeman County, son of the late John Earl Trainum, Sr. and Dollie Russell Trainum. He married Karen Briggs on June 11, 1965 and lived in Shelby County and a short time in Selmer, but the majority of his life was in Hardeman County. He worked in trucking and transportation for 30 years and was in sales and management for several different companys. Mr. Trainum served his country in the US Navy for four years and was a member of the Memphis Transportation Club. He was a hard worker but after retirement, enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, working crossword puzzles and talking with his friends. He was a Methodist in belief.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter and her husband, Lynn Trainum Hillstrom (Dan) of Portland, TN; two sons and their wives, John E. "Trey" Trainum, III (Jennifer) of North Port, AL and Michael B. Trainum (Brenda) of Cordova, TN; four sisters, Esta Lee Lamberth of Pocahontas, Lila Burcham of Counce, Bonnie Williams of Overland Park, KS and Elaine Capshaw of Middleton; a brother, Jerry Trainum of Pocahontas; and four grandchildren, Kayla Dawn Hillstrom, William Garrett Trainum, John Michael Trainum and John E. "Jack" Trainum, IV. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Billie Bullard.
