John Louis Jones of Selmer, Tennessee, was born on March 1, 1924, to the late Burton E. and Lela M. Hamm Jones. He owned and operated Jones Realty in Selmer until his retirement. He was a POW having served in the Army Air Force during World War II and was a VFW member. He loved hunting, fishing, and being outdoors. Mr. Jones, age 85, departed this life on November 30, 2009, at his home in Selmer. He is survived by two daughters, Jeannine Richardson and husband John of Wilson, North Carolina, and Lela Elliott and husband Matt of Colorado Springs, Colorado; two sons, Ted Jones and wife Sunny of San Diego, California, and John Benton Jones and wife Julie of Napa, California; a sister, Emogene Hall of Colorado Springs, Colorado; a brother, Dr. Jimmy Jones of Baytown, Texas; 9 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; a close friend, Donna Weaver of Selmer, Tennessee; a host of other relatives and friends.
