John Travis McFadden departed this life on January 27, 2026, at the age of 89 years, 9 months, and 21 days. Born on April 6, 1936, in Itawamba County, Mississippi, John was the beloved son of the late Ellie M. McFadden and Janey Luna Dulainey McFadden.

John's life was filled with love and commitment, exemplified by his union with Sue Byrd on December 31, 1988. His spirit of service was evident during his time in the United States Navy, where he proudly served for three years during the end of the Korean War.

After his military service, John enjoyed a fulfilling career, retiring from FedEx, before spending seven years with Thyssenkrupp Elevator in Middleton, Tennessee. He also was a Mason and Shriner, having actively participated in these organizations in the past.

As we celebrate John's extraordinary life, let us remember him not just for his accomplishments but for the kindness he extended to everyone he met. His legacy of love and dedication will forever resonate in our hearts.

He is survived by his wife, Sue McFadden of Guys, TN; two sons, Bryan McFadden of West Memphis, AR, Richard Todd McFadden and wife Mary of West Memphis, AR; stepson, Stephen Capshaw and wife Vicki of Panama City Beach, FL; stepdaughter, Stacy Herm and husband Wendell of Cincinnati, OH; a sister, Mary Collier of Tupelo, MS; 7 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers.
